Hanna-Liina Võsa is a native Estonian who has been called by Los Angeles Times “a clarion-voiced singer who is going to places!” She graduated from the New York’s American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in 2001 and is currently continuing her studies in the New School University Music Theatre Program.
Võsa is currently starring in Finnish National Opera's production of "Phantom of the Opera" as Christine Daeé and Tampere Theatre's production of "Sugar" as Sugar Kane.
Estonian audiences have seen Võsa appear in musicals such as: "Mary Poppins“ (Mary Poppins), "Sound of Music“ (Maria), "West Side Story“ (Maria), "My Fair Lady“ (Eliza), "Man of La Mancha“ (Aldonza), „Little Shop of Horrors“ (Audrey), "Les Miserables“ (Cosette), Yeston’s "Phantom“ (Christine), "Crazy For You“ (Polly), "Ball at the Savoy“ (Daisy), "Der Zirkus printsessin" (Mabel) and "Phantom of the Opera“ (Christine). She performed the role of Penny in the 1’st European production of "Hairspray“ in Helsinki City Theare and Anne in "La Cage Aux Folles“ at The Gateway Playhouse in the US.
Hanna-Liina has created new roles for Garry Marshall’s musical "Happy Days“ (Lori Beth) at the Goodspeed Opera House in the US, K.Lai’s and M. Cheong’s "Angels“ (Serra) for NYMF festival in New York, and Heikki Sarmanto’s jazz-opera "Manon“ (Manon) in Tallinn. She has performed the role of Sandy over 600 times in the North-American and Asian Tour of "Grease.“
Võsa has guest-starred in the popular TV-show “Law and Order, SVU“ playing opposite Sharon Stone, served as an official announcer for 2010 European Figure Skating Championships, dubbed the animations of "Frozen“ (Elsa) and "Rio 2“ (Gabi) in Estonia and released four solo records: "Premiére“ (2004 with XXI Century Orchestra), "Pimedas on valge“ (2010 with string quartet Prezioso and jazz trio led by Marti Tärn, "Särav vaikus“(with Kristjan Randalu) and a children's CD "Miki Merehädas" (2015).
In Spring 2012 Hanna-Liina together with conductor Risto Jooost, co-founded a creative union Kamber which introduces new works by yonger-generation artists from different fields of art. Kamber presented its first production, a mono-opera „The Last of the Monogamicans“ in May 2013 at KUMU Art Museum in Tallinn.
